摘要: Stress memory genes can be continuously expressed, and this sustained expression depends on the activation of non-memory stress-induced genes. This mechanism is called the 'hit-and-run' model. However, it is not clear whether cold stress memory (CS-M) genes in cucumber are widely regulated by this model. Here, we used our previously published RNA-seq data, and classify these CS-induced genes into two classes: sustainably induced (CS-memory) and non-sustainably induced (NSI) genes. We then utilized bioinformatics analysis to predict the regulatory of NSI and CS-M genes, which showed that NSI gene, especially for up-regulated genes, can widely regulate the up-memory genes through protein interactions or transcript factor (TF) binding. We further randomly validated these interactions or bindings through yeast two-hybrid and yeast one-hybrid. In general, the "hit-and-run" regulatory model for CS-memory gene is widespread in cucumbers, laying foundation for further CS-memory mechanism study.
